Face Rejuvenation for Anti Ageing

Changes in skin texture, complexion, and tone are unavoidable to happen with age. Creases, fine lines, tiny wrinkles around the mouth, nose, and eyes, as well as sagging skin and discoloration, can all be caused by a plethora of factors such as stress, gravity, and UV ray exposure. Luckily, treating issues of this sort is possible, and non-surgical face rejuvenation treatments seem to be the most fitting option for healthier skin.

Non-surgical face rejuvenation treatments are a combination of aesthetical, medical, and non-invasive techniques which help regenerate and heal the skin. Microdermabrasion laser treatments, chemical peels, and injectable products such as dermal fillers and Botox all fall under non-surgical treatments that can drastically restore the skin’s elasticity and youthfulness.

What Do Non-Surgical Rejuvenation Treatments Do?

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation techniques help optimize the condition of the skin through a painless, quick, and safe approach. Non-surgical treatments are oftentimes used to:

  • Add volume to saggy skin areas, such as the jaw, cheeks, and forehead;
  • Minimize wrinkles, folds, and fine lines, such as eleven lines and nasolabial folds;
  • Erase or minimize skin spots, scarring, blemishes, and dark patches;
  • Reduce redness and blotchiness in the face;
  • Improve the texture and tone of the skin;
  • Contour and sculpt the face.

The best thing about non-surgical rejuvenation treatments is that all of them ensure minimal downtime, and include no aggressive or clinical approaches. Most treatments are completed within the hour, and sometimes longer, depending on the patient’s needs. All take several weeks to provide visible results and require no anesthesia, incisions, or threads, whilst offering patients to repeat the procedure as needed, for the best results.

Some of the most wanted procedures of non-surgical facial rejuvenation include:

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are the first non-surgical treatments for dynamic wrinkles, which occur because of repeated facial activities like smiling, squinting, and frowning. Those botulinum neurotoxin products temporarily paralyze the person’s facial muscles related to dynamic wrinkles.

Besides removing wrinkles, Botox and the products like it minimize muscle spasms in the eyes and neck, reduce excessive sweating, and even help relieve migraines.

Dermal Fillers

Over the years, the face tends to lose muscle volume, a direct result of collagen levels in the skin decreasing. Loss of collagen leads to a hollow, almost grumpy facial appearance, which makes many aging patients appear visibly older. Soft or dermal tissue fillers are injectables powerful enough to restore lost volume in the face, and help flatten marionette lines, nasolabial folds, cheek and eye wrinkles, and more.

Dermal fillers such as Belotero, Sculptra for face, Rasiesse, Restylane, and Juvederm can heal the loss of fullness around the cheeks, brow, nose, jawline, mouth, and eyes. Specific types of dermal tissue fillers can also be injected to plump up thin lips and treat wrinkles. Many cosmetic surgeons use fillers made of Hyaluronic acid (HA), Poly-L-lactic acid, and Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA). Unlike Botox, dermal fillers are an FDA-approved solution for rejuvenating the skin and can last anywhere between a few months to two years, depending on the patient’s needs and facial response.

Laser Resurfacing and IPL

There are two types of skin laser therapies. The first one is laser resurfacing, which uses highly concentrated rays of light energy directed at the skin in order to improve its appearance, texture, and tone. There are also two subtypes of lasers: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers optimize the outer layer of skin, whereas non-ablative lasers heat the skin below its surface and thus stimulate deeper collagen production.

The second type of light therapy is also known as intense pulsed light (IPL). The treatment provides quick pulses of light with a wide range of wavelengths. Both IPL and laser resurfacing and IPL procedures treat skin tone and hyperpigmentation issues.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel can exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells efficiently and painlessly. Once peeled, the treatment also encourages the skin to regenerate and create new and healthy skin cells. Chemical peels mainly work on the upper skin layers or the epidermis. Depending on the peel itself, it can treat a variety of issues, such as precancerous growths, keratosis, skin discoloration, aging spots, and wrinkles. Based on peel’s depth and intensity, they can be divided into three categories – deep, medium, and light chemical peels – and typically use various natural acids which impact the skin.

Microneedling and Microdermabrasion

Microneedling and microdermabrasion are the two of the most common types of non-surgical skin exfoliation treatments. Microneedling is a technique where a professional uses a multiple-short-needle instrument that creates invisible wounds against the surface, to ultimately improve the skin’s natural healing mechanism and stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. This special procedure also helps reduce blemishes, fight acne, and minimize pore size.

Microdermabrasion, on the other hand, is similar to microneedling, but instead of needles, a surgeon uses aluminum hydroxide crystals. This method reduces wrinkles and age spotting and treats mild acne scars.
